Our state of the art facilities on the banks of Lough Lannagh is approximately 1
km from the centre of Castlebar. Visitors very welcomed to use any of the six all
weather courts and also the changing rooms.
Club Facilities Include:
- Six all weather outdoor courts. The courts are Sand filled Synthetic Turf Tennis
Courts laid on top of an Open Texture Macadam base. The surface is commonly referred
to as a Probounce Tennis Surface
- Flood lighting available for evening games. Tokens for Lighting cost €2.50 per
½ hour per court
- Changing rooms with toilets and hot water showers
- Disabled court access and toilets
- Viewing area
- Fully licensed cosy Bar to enjoy refreshments. Opening hours 6.30 pm until closing
time from Monday to Saturday.
- Spacious function room suitable for parties & other sport activates with Two
Table Tennis Tables
- Generous parking facilities.
The Club provides several professional tennis services to junior & adult club members, visitors and to the local community via different tennis programmes available also to non-members. Garrett Barry, Director of Tennis @ Castlebar, coordinates all the on-court services including individual & group lessons, tournaments, interclub friendly matches, supervised sessions, tennis clinics, cardio-tennis, high performance squad training, etc. For more details about the different programmes available visit the Junior and Adult Sections of this website.

Castlebar Tennis Club also offers a ‘PAY and PLAY’ system, so visitors can enjoy a game of tennis. Court fees must be paid to the barman after 18.30 hrs or placed in an envelope and put in the post box adjacent to the front door. Pay and Play is €15.00 per hour per court.
Courts are free of charge for members to play tennis at the weekends and during
the week days up until 18.00hrs.
Bookings:
- It is important to book the courts in advance as they may be already booked for
other members, tournaments, matches against other clubs or coaching.
- Court Booking Sheets are displayed in the changing room lobby, one week in advance.
- Stickers can be purchased at the bar for booking during peak times and must be
attached to the Court Booking Sheet at the required times. (Remember the bar opens
at 6.30pm).
- Wright your name on the Court Booking Sheet for off peak times
- Peak times are from 18.00 hrs to 23.00 hrs.
- Tokens for lights can be purchased at the bar at a cost of €2.50 per ½ hour per
court (when required)
- Members are permitted to book: a game of singles for 1 hour only or a game of
doubles/mixed for 1 ½ hours only.
- Each member is permitted to book a maximum of 2 courts for a game he/she will
be playing in.
- Removal of stickers is not permitted.
- Booking of courts by telephone is not permitted.
Charges:
- Stickers cost €2.00 per ½ hour per court Monday to Friday – peak times.
- No stickers required on Saturdays & Sundays or off peak times Monday – Friday.
Bookings and Charges for Juniors:
- Juniors can use the courts all day up to 19.30 hrs. Mondays to Thursdays & up
to 20.00 hrs. on Fridays.
- Courts are free up to 18.00 Monday to Friday
- Junior stickers are required from 18.00 hrs to 19.30 hrs. Mondays to Thursdays
& from 18.00 hrs. to 20.00 hrs. on Fridays
- Junior stickers cost €0.50 each (½ hour)
- Lighting (when required) €2.50 per ½ hour per court
- An adult coaching a junior requires a junior sticker between 18.00hrs – 1930 /
20.00 hrs.
The club house can cater for many social events, birthday parties, discos, wedding
receptions and corporate events. Our hall consists of a 22 x 12 metres wooden floor
with access to kitchen. The premises are wheelchair accessible and the hall can
be accessed from the bar as well as from the outside. This hall is available every
day 7 days a week from 8.00a.m. We are available for private parties/functions/
(seats up to 150 people) 75 padded chairs are available for use. Extra chairs/tables
can be hired at an extra cost. The person booking the facility must be either involved
in the club or be familiar to a current Tennis club member If you would like to

Courts are available for use all day seven days a week. You must book court before you play to ensure the court is free. If the club house is closed you can access the changing rooms and toilet area by entering the code in the key pad adjacent to the side door. The code will be changed from time to time. Ask behind the bar for the latest code. The changing room door will be locked each night and will be opened by Coaches each day and by a club member at the weekends. Members can be issued with a key to the changing room door for a deposit of €10. Please order access key from the Club Chairman.
Our Director of Tennis opens the Club house from 9.30 – 1.30 Monday, Wednesday & Friday. The bar is opened and manned from 18.30 hrs to 23.30 hrs / 24.30 hrs from Monday to Fridays. Stickers, Tokens and Tennis Balls can be purchased behind the bar
